Who We Are
THE HEART BEHIND IT
More than music.
A movement.
UNDIGNIFIED was born from a conviction that worship is not performance, it's a lifestyle of wholehearted devotion to Jesus. We began as a small community of songwriters, musicians, and creatives who gathered not to create content or chase moments, but to encounter God together in honest, Spirit-led worship.
Our name comes from 2 Samuel, where David danced before the Lord with all his might, undignified, unashamed, and fully abandoned in worship. That posture shapes everything we carry: every song, every gathering, every creative expression.
What started in small rooms has grown into a movement of worshipers and creatives across nations and generations. But the mission has never changed, to create space where people can encounter Jesus through raw, honest worship in Spirit and Truth.

HOW IT ALL BEGAN
The Story
During the 2020 pandemic, while churches around the world closed their doors, God began drawing a Texas high school senior named William into a deeper relationship with Him. For months, William spent hours alone in his basement worshiping, praying, reading Scripture, and resting in the secret place. In that hidden season, a deep hunger for the presence of God was formed, and worship became more than music, it became communion with Jesus.
As William encountered God in those moments, he felt the Lord ask him to invite others into that same space of worship and prayer. He invited his UPPERROOM youth band to lead a two-hour prayer and worship set for around 20 students. What happened that night was unexpected, students filled the floor, worshiping freely and encountering the presence of God in a real and personal way.
What started as a simple gathering quickly became something more. High school students continued gathering hungry for God's presence, not for performance, hype, or platform, but for genuine encounters with Jesus. Those nights eventually became recurring biweekly gatherings known as "Jesus Covid Parties," where over 100 students would come together to worship, pray, and pursue the presence of God.
In Fall 2021, God gave William a vision to visually document what He was doing through this generation. Soon after, Gen Z artists, filmmakers, musicians, and creatives traveled to Dallas to record and film a worship project called Back to the Garden. Out of those moments, the Lord spoke the name: UNDIGNIFIED.
